The heavy traffic on the trails Sunday and the warm temperatures have reduced the trails to mud. If you were planning on riding I would not advise it, I spoke with someone who rode the trails Sunday and there are long stretches of trail that are noting but dirt and mud. The lack of snow and warm temperatures make grooming impossible at this time. We had a part break on our second Groomer and two broken cylinders on the first Groomer and won't have parts till Monday. So the groomers will not be out tonight, and will not go our again until the temperatures drop, and we get some more snow to groom.
When you go riding again, if you would like to give us your opinion of the conditions, it would be greatly appreciated since the conditions can change with the changes in temperature and wind conditions. Just go to our web site and click on Galen Faith under Contacts at the left and send them.
We are experiencing sign theft again this year! Removing signs from the trails is against the law. If someone gets hurt as a result, and we find out who you are, you will be prosecuted.
1. New trail to Forestville! Most of the signatures have been gotten and the rest are looking as though they will sign or we have alternate routes planned.
2. New trail from Forester to Port Sanilac! We have made some headway on getting a route into Port Sanilac. If you ride in this area please come to our next meeting and let us know where you have been riding.
3. New trail from Marlette to North Branch, Kingston, and Hemans! We are getting closer to getting the use of he roads in Tuscola County. The first hurdle is at least in sight now, once we have the permission from the County Road Commission, to use the ROW for snowmobile use, we will be in need of volunteers in this area to help secure the landowner signatures. So far it looks like this is going to happen! But it's not a done deal until we have the signed paper work.
If you would like to help with these projects please get in touch with us by clicking on contact above or call 810-376-4909. Time is running out many hands make light work!
