MSA Events For December 2013

  • December 1, Snowmobile Trails Officially Open
  • Dec. 5: Snowmobile Advisory Workgroup (SAW) will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sidney's Restaurant, Munising, MI. The meeting is open to the public.
  • Dec. 6: MSA First Ride, Munising MI) will meet from 9 A.M. at Days Inn, Downtown Munising, MI. The ride is open to the public.

  • Jan. 21: DNR Trails Summit, Grand Traverse Resort, more information to come.
  • Jan.18-26: International Snowmobile Safety Week. Many local clubs and snowmobile associations take this time to teach snowmobilers about safe riding and many dealerships help by putting on seminars teaching customers how to maintain their sleds and keep them running in top condition. Visit www.snowmobile.org and download a Safety Week Campaign Action Manual with ideas on how to promote safety week and ideas for putting on safety week events.

  • Feb. 1-2: I-500 Snowmobile Race, Sault Ste Marie, MI
  • Feb. 8-17: The 6th annual TAKE A FRIEND SNOWMOBILING WEEK. Consider partnering with local clubs and other local businesses to encourage non-snowmobiling friends or those who haven’t been snowmobiling for a while to join us for a time of fun. Many have tried snowmobiling for the first time with the experience resulting in the purchase of a snowmobile and joining a club and association – all because somebody asked them to come along.   • Feb. 22: Top of the Lake Snowmobile Show & Ride – Sponsored by the Top of the Lake Communities Assoc.

Friday – 4:00-8:00pm – GRAND OPENING of the new museum building. Come for our Open House event.

Take a tour of the new building and enjoy snacks and punch.

Saturday - 10am-3pm. Display of all sleds in downtown Naubinway. Free registration will be at the Snowmobile Museum, on US 2. Bring whatever you have. This is a fun event, only trophy is for the Favorite Featured Sled. Featured sleds this year are the “Side-by-side” machines.

Banquet from 4:30-6:00 at the Engadine Town Hall with a presentation on the featured sled, raffle drawings and an auction, with the proceeds going to the Top of the Lake Museum Building Fund. We would appreciate any donations for the auction. All donations are tax deductible.
